Henrik Strindberg The Fifth string (excerpt)

Each pieces contains the expression of clear emotional states. They are even opposites. Both pieces are universal in the sens that the description of the feelings in the artworks are raw (in anger or in joy) and understandable to everybody.

This EP starts with La nuit rouge (de ses paupières) for violin and live electronics by Lorenzo Branch-Hoesch. It plunges the listener into an explosive and fierce sound universe, thanks to a spatialised sound system installation. The composition goes beyond the limits of expression of one instrument by establishing a very close dialogue between the violin and its electronic double.

As a complementary opposite, the Joy, the quietness described in the work by Cassandra Miller Daylonging, Slacktide evokes serenity, calm and gratitude. This piece includes violin, violin accompaniement and voice.
